Biography

Based out of London, UK, Kalu is a singer/songwriter who specializes in Soul Pop. In 2015, celebrating his  21st birthday, he was a contestant on The Voice UK, where he initially gained a following under the name “NK". Shortly after, Kalu began working with many up-and-coming artists and producers all over the world. Some of these features include: “Neverland” by Slashtaq, “To Myself” by Uplink, “Stop the Time” by Samlight (under the name “NK”) and “Take it All” by Oliver Ryon. In 2018, Kalu went on tour with fellow upcoming artist, Kofi Stone, playing in various venues such as KOKO, Camden and in cities such as: Manchester and Birmingham. Kalu is heavily influenced by the unique sounds of artists including: John Legend, Labrinth, Daniel Caesar, Frank Ocean, Billie Eilish and James Arthur. Despite wanting to be one of the most revered black vocal artists in the UK, Kalu desires to write for other artists as well and be one of the most well-rounded talents in the world.
